Nicholas Imig.
A swimmer’s perspective.

Nicholas brings seven years of swim-teaching experience to private lessons at Redmond Pool under Swim with Nicholas. He specializes in freestyle and breaststroke technique for swim-team athletes, and also works with adults who feel nervous in the water.

At the 2025 U.S. Masters Swimming Summer National Championship, Nicholas won the men’s 18–24 100-meter freestyle in 52.26 seconds, the fastest time across all men’s age groups.

He also swam for Seattle University, setting school records in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle, and spent the 2025–2026 season coaching with its NCAA Division I swimming program.

Cancellation policy

For Sunday lessons, cancel by 11:59 p.m. Pacific on the preceding Friday for a full refund. Cancellations after that cutoff and no-shows are charged the full lesson price. If a pool lane cannot be secured, your payment is refunded.

Do I need to be a competitive swimmer?

No. Swim with Nicholas offers technique coaching for swim-team athletes and lessons for adults, including adults who feel nervous in the water.

Which strokes do you specialize in?

Nicholas specializes in freestyle and breaststroke technique.

Are there lessons in Bellevue or Kirkland?

The teaching location is Redmond Pool. Swimmers from Bellevue and Kirkland are welcome to inquire about lessons there.

When are lessons available?

Lessons are offered on Sundays only, subject to confirmed pool availability. Contact Nicholas for current openings. In-water adult beginner lessons have limited availability.

How do I book, and what does a lesson cost?

New-student lessons are $85 for 30 minutes or $150 for 60 minutes, including lane rental. Call, text or email Nicholas to ask about availability and confirm any separate pool admission requirements. An inquiry does not reserve a lesson; your time is confirmed directly with Nicholas.
